AC system will still work even if you have a coolant leak. Find and fix the coolant leak as a separate problem. If the AC is not working, start by checking the refrigerant charge in the system. If you are comfortable working on your own vehicle, pick up a can of refrigerant (same type as in your vehicle) that has a gauge on it to tell you the charge level and see if you just need to add some.
