I have a 98 Grand Prix, super charged motor. 3.8 liters. It recently started to smoke behind the engine, my check engine light isn't on, my car isn't over heating? What's going on?!

My power steering is making a weird
sound, although I just replaced the
pump, & it used to leak fluid but
never smoked or made the burning
smell it does now.. ?!

you could have some residual burning off if some of the fluid fell onto the manifold during the swap of parts. If your temp gauge doesn't say you're running hot and there is no lights on, I wouldnt worry about it to much. Pinpoint the location of the smoke origin, then go back and look at it when the car is cold so that you can see whats going on.

Cannot rule out the ever so popular valve cover gasket leak! Give' er a good washin', and see if it does it again. If it does, start at the highest point above the manifolds and look for leakage. No more smoke? enjoy the clean engine!
