Battery issues

Asked by Mason Jun 03, 2018 at 09:00 PM about the 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix 4 Dr GTP Supercharged Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 98 Pontiac Grand Prix gtp has been broke down and I
drained the battery trying to fix the problems, so I had
autozone charge the battery to full charge. Hooked up the
positive, then I went to connect to negative and there was
an usual big spark and it began to melt the aluminum
where the cables connect to the battery. What’s caused
this to happen? Do I have a short in the battery? Please
help
