i just replaced the engine in my 99 grandprix the new enginge is a 3.8 lkiter 3800 series II v6 my speedometer has stopped working and now it wont shift outta first i have replaced the speedometer sensor with no prevail what could it be are the two problems linked?

Double check everything and make sure everything is hooked up and bolted back up properly. Very easy to overlook something when you are swapping a motor (been there and done that).

did u put the vaccuum modulator hose on the transmission(from the throttle body intake area)? that is used if your car is not a electronic transmission. i'm more familiar with buicks but most have that set-up before 2000 models, i think.
