Overheating

Asked by Lori Dec 16, 2017 at 10:27 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix started overheating while
idling when the blower for the heating/cooling
stopped working. Could these actually be
connected or two separate issues? Blower goes
out periodically and a good bump will get it
working. Hasn't come back on yet, but I'm gonna
beat on it tomorrow morning and see if that works.
Full of coolant.

You short in the wiring ,loose connection on the blower motor ,as far as the car over heating those cars are bad for that usually a head gasket

see if the fans come on when it gets hot , what does the exhaust look like ? , look under the oil fill cap what do you see ?, the blower motor for the heater is probably no good, stop hitting it , you have to check if it gets power when it's turned on
