Need help

I changed my ignition switch on my 2000
pontiac grand prix gt. It cranks now and
idles fine. When i press the gs its hard to
keep running. If i put it in gear and press
the gas it dies. What could my problem be

This does not sound like it is related to your switch replacement. Did you disconnect your battery when you replaced the ignition switch? If so, your car may need to reset its memory. If it idles OK, turn it on and let it run for 10-15 minutes. Then try to make it go. If that does not work, then look into other fuel delivery/ignition components.
