I bought my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT from my son. He said that he was putting synthetic oil 10/30 in the car. His last oil change was at Walmart they put non synthetic 10/40 in the car. The oil cap says 10/30. Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance. ~B~

Drain the oil and fill it back up with 10/30, or complain at Wal-Mart, you might get a refund.
10/40 won't hurt it. And synthetic is better of course, but conventional is what was used from the factory. Just make sure you get it changed a 3mo or 3000miles.
When you change it again go back to synthetic. once you go to full synthetic never go back. Are you able to change it yourself Walmart sells Mobil1 in a 5qt container by me for $22 I'm sure it won't be much more by you might be less. Filter and oil won't exceed $30 if it does it won't be much. Many shops take used oil free of charge put ur old oil into old laundry detergent containers or whatever.
