Windshield wiper wont work

Asked by lbriardy May 23, 2017 at 08:19 PM about the 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter has an 01 Pontiac Grand Prix. The driver side windshield wiper operates, but the passenger side does not. Does that sound like a bad motor?

There is only one motor that drives both wipers. As JS said, it is likely to be the linkage that joins the two arms.

It's more likely to be the wiper arm slipping on the splined shaft that it mounts on. Try tightening the nut that holds it down

(03 Grand Prix.) Thanks guys. It was the Wiper Arm slipping on the shaft. I popped off the little black cap, tightens the bolt and that fixed it!!! May as well tighten both of them since it takes all of 5 min.
