Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Pontiac gtp supercharger's timing chain broke
(internal) Can this cause my valves or pistons to bend?

A supercharger is a belt driven component that rams more air into the engine to generate more power. As in, the serpentine belt is generally what drives the supercharger. If it is an internal belt/chain that broke, that is a timing belt/chain. I am unsure if that engine is a non-interference engine or not, but if it is an interference engine, then it does have the potential to destroy your valve train.
