I have a 07 grand prix. I shifted from
reverse to drive and when i took off it
shifted hard and made a loud noise in
the front end and it jerked. I drove it to
the store and when i got back in the car
it moved in reverse but drive would not
engage and same with 3rd it just reves
but 2nd and 1st work. There is also a
noise coming from the engine bay
please help...

Check your fluid levels especially the transmission fluid level. Also would go to the local parts store and get an obd scan. Hopefully it's not a clutch issue with the transmission or a computer malfunction. So could be anything mechanical to electrical at this point till you do more investigation.

How many miles in this car? The transmission has an input clutch assembly that some times go bad and prevent it to engage different gears. Also, there is a forward and reverse band assembly that can fail giving you the described symptoms. All are internal problems and the transmission must be removed to fix them. But first, yes, check the fluid level and also you may want to change it and the filter as well. Scan for codes, as it can be an electrical malfunction.
