I am simply tying to remove my steering Column
cover in my 01 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP to replace
my ignition lock cylinder as I had a replacement key
made from GM and it doesn’t work yet is the one
for my car.

MAY HAVE BEEN CHANGED BEFORE YOU SHOULD CALL LOCKSMITH

replacing ignition lock cylinder got the cylinder out and now nothing.what am i doing wrong??? 4 Answers

when we got the cylinder out we then turned the ignition switch with a screwdriver. we heard the starter for a second but now it does nothing at all

I have a 06 grand prix gt 3.8 v6 It looks like a new ignition switch was put in and and a used lock cylinder installed in the switch. I have tried the sequence of turning the key on for 10 minutes and off for 10 seconds 3 times and it will not start . The message center still says antitheft will not start. What is wrong or what am I doing wrong? 3 Answers
