between 0-25mph it chuggs, between 25-65mph it drives like an old truck, & now a whining sound coming from the passengers side hub, any clues?

wonderful, so what's the worse case scenario...the wheel bearings have been done. i do however notice when i stop there is clunk noise that no one seems to know where its coming from would this be it?
whining noise is wheel bearing , they are not that hard to do , the clunking noise could be a number of things , those cars do have a problem with strut tops, the rubber bushing on top of the strut. you need a spring compressor to fix that.
well I was quoted at a transmission house because that was my first thought as my tranny went with about the same noise in my olds 3.1L vs 3.8L which I have currently & that noise was similar then, it was a spring in the tranny, this however is a wheel bearing on the passengers side & the tranny place here in NR 1yr warranty + 3hrs labor part $100, labor unsure. same place in NR quoted me $156 for part with 3yr warranty & still 3hrs to do. guess I'll be going back home to Meno$ to get it done with part & labor for only $180. i can only afford to do this one at a time. until i make more money that's just the way it'll have to be. otherwise i'd be cycling to work vs driving.
