Why does my car do this?

Worn or damaged suspension and/or steering gear. Have a mechanic inspect it before you drive it again.

Most likely the front sway bar is broken. The factory sway bar is hollow and will break. If that's the case, replace it with the Dorman kit. That sway bar is solid and will last the remaining life of the vehicle. Be advised that to replace the sway bar the sub frame must come down. So it's not an easy fix. Hope that helps! Jim
