2002 pontiac grand prix

2002 Pontiac grand prix fuel gauge drops to empty then car shuts off. it turns on
again after a couple of tries. replace fuel pump about 6 months ago. it runs for
about ten - 20 min then it happens again.

Check the wiring at the fuel pump assembly. The fuel gauge sending unit is part of the fuel pump assembly. Since the gas gauge drops to empty and the engine dies at the same time, that means the fuel pump assembly is losing power. Hope that helps! Jim
