Mass Air Flow MAF Sensor Circuit Low Frequency (code P0102)

Asked by Shelby Sep 01, 2015 at 06:09 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm trying to find out where the sensor
actually IS on the car. I had my codes read
at O'Reilly's (I hate autozone with a
passion), and P0102 is what came up. I'm
just looking for some general information.
I've read that I can clean it, or have it
replaced. About how much does it run to
replace? Where is it? All of that. ASE
certified peoples, you guys probably know
exactly what I'm looking to find out.
Thanks in advance... -S

The MAF is right before the throttle body, between the air filter and TB. I will try to find a picture of your car

and these may not look exactly like your GP but should be close

What it does is measure the amount of air-flow entering intake. The ECU takes that data and uses it to set air/fuel trim. Now, to have it replaced is about $300 - http://www.napaautocare.com/estimator.aspx#
