2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I drive 10 hours out of a 14 hour trip a few days
ago and suddenly when I stopped for gas it
wouldn't start. No warning lights, no odd sounds or
misfires before hand just shut it off and wouldn't
start again. No spark. Mechanic found no codes on
the computer and switched out the ignition module
and the cam sensor but no avail. No I have to tow it
10 hours back home (not impressed) and am
gonna have to figure it out myself I guess. Another
car is definitely not in the budget right now so I'm
wondering where I should even start to figure out
what's wrong with it. TIA.

Sounds like your battery died or the power wiring to your starter lost connection. Did the "mechanic" try to jump start it?

A ten hour towing bill is going to exceed the value of your car. Find a shop that’s local to where the car is that will do proper diagnostics before replacing parts. I’d suspect the fuel pump, but you say it has no spark so that’s not it. Does it turn over but not fire or is there nothing at all?

No it rolls over no problem and he tried switching batteries too that wasn't it, it's getting fuel so it's not the fuel pump either. I'm already half way home with it on the back of my dad-in-laws truck so I'm gonna just get it home then go over the whole electrical system and look for shorts, bare wires or corrosion... outside of that I have no idea why it won't fire
