2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
So my car died on me about a month ago on a trip,
I drove 10 hours with no issues and when I pulled
in for gas it wouldn't start again, would roll over
and over but wouldn't fire, no spark. So I towed it
home and had my mechanic look at it, hes since
got it running again with a new crank sensor but it
was misfiring like crazy so I had to take it back, hes
now changed the cam sensor and the ignition
module but still to no avail. It's been over there for
a month and I'm out of options as I need it back so
I'm wondering I'd there is a common electrical
issue with these cars that anybody could tell me
about? It's getting lots of gas that's not the issue,
I'm fearing that it jumped time which means its
dusted but I hope that's not the case. TIA.

Try octane booster or other additives in fuel. Sounds like you might of put in some bad fuel
You know what I thought that too, I'll try some additives thanks

It sounds like the problem is ignition spark. You replaced the ICM but what about the ignition coil? Scan for codes too. A crank sensor failure will show code P0320. A cam sensor failure will show P0340. Crank sensors have to be installed to touch the flywheel, then back it out 0.030 inches or they won't fire right. I've seen engine heat cook an ignition coil on a long trip. You stop for gas, ant that "heat soaked" engine will ruin the coil. Car won't restart until it cools, or not at all. Coil pack is in a bad spot on this 3.8 engine anyway. Don't buy cheap parts. And cars with timing chains don't often jump time like engines with timing belts. Let us know what you find.
I'm with Hornet on this one, sounds like a heat soaked engine toasted one or more parts.
Yeah Hornet I'm going over to the shop shortly I'm gonna find out if he installed the crank sensor right and I'll mention the ignition coil too, thank you very much
Theres is no codes coming up though the only code that came up was p0128 which is the thermostat
