Pontiac Grand Prix blows hot air on passenger side with A/C on

Asked by GuruPX3NC Jan 18, 2020 at 06:46 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It has temp controls for both sides, but even on cool, the passenger side blows
hot air. It occasionally has blown cold, the drivers side always works properly.
What could cause that to happen? Some of the radio controls also don't work,
but I'm not sure if that is related.

Most likely a bad temperature blend door. AC and heater core are working as they should, but the door that directs air across either the AC coil or heater core is stuck open to the heater core only. Most of the time it's a bad actuator, but it could be a climate module too.
