I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. would i be able to drop a GTP or a GTO engine in it with little problems and would it be worth it?

Question type: General
My car is starting to get a good amount of miles and the body is really good still. I wanna
keep the car but i was wanting to put a new engine in it so i can keep it for longer but i
was hoping to use a GTP or a GTO engine so i could get some more horsepower.

GTP supercharged V-6 yes with a bit of wiring and computer swapping. The GTO or GXP V-8's will fit but will need to change a whole lot more including the transmission, cradle (subframe), motor mounts, ect. As far as, is it worth swapping, is there anything wrong with the 3800 in your car now? I've seen them go as high as 350,000 miles.
No, it is not worth it- what is the attraction, anyway? it's not like that car is a classic- don't want to be hatin' your car, but there's a million of them, and a million more just like it- the 21st century cars are made to be used and disposed of-
Agree. Not worth it in a million years no matter how you approach it. (Nor is replacing the motor with another stock one for that car) There's so much more to it than just swapping in a different motor. If you want a GTP, buy a GTP. There's hundreds of good ones around. And if you want a GTO, buy a GTO, there's a couple of dozen of them around too and probably most of them are in minty mint condition. Spend your money wisely grasshopper, it doesn't grow on trees.
