04 Grand Prix, No Spark, No Fuel

Asked by Ryan Oct 18, 2018 at 10:39 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a no start condition, No fuel, No spark

Replaced the following:
Fuel Pump and Filter
Ignition module
Crankshaft position sensor
Cleaned grounds

What I have also tried:
Starting fluid in intake.. no start
Relearned keys... (didn't have security light but did it anyway)
I added jumper grounds from the ground terminal to frame and motor.
Plug to the ignition module and position sensor applied dielectric grease also to the plug above the ignition
module.
Tightened the fuse block grounding bolts.

History, This vehicle was parked in my driveway and was not used for about 3 weeks. Prior I didn't have a
working gas gauge. I was having some difficulty getting it to start. I had to turn on the ignition and off 2 or 3
times and it would start no problem. If I didn' cycle the ignition it would try to start but stumble. I would pump
the gas and it would go. if I cycled the ignition as stated I didn't have to pump the gas. I figured the starting
issue was the fuel pump and filter but after I replaced them the gas gauge started working but no fuel in the
engine and no spark.

please help!!!!!  I am ready to pull my hair out!

I feel your pain with the grand prix. I was having similar issues. Eventually found 2 melted and 2 broken wires. They were in a loom touching the top right valve cover. I also had problems a couple years ago and again found some bare wires under air box. Good thing is if you eventually remove and clean throttle body it starts alot cleaner and smoother. Dont let the electrical gremlins beat you. I dont know if this helps but good luck.
