Intake manifold gasket should I do the head gasket

Asked by Rich Mar 08, 2019 at 08:24 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 grand prix Gtp that I am going to be doing
the two intake manifold gaskets on which I am
completely comfortable doing. I've been told that I
should do the head gasket as well. I have found out that
doing the head gaskets on this car involves needing
other tools and the possibility of ruining parts. I bought
a set that has every gasket already so it's not a matter of
money. My last question/concern is if I should do every
other gasket/O ring etc. If I don't need to take the part
off or anything that will make it necessary (fuel injectors
for example) Thank you in advance.

Don't replace it unless the HG is leaking.

Agree. Leave the HG alone if there are no obvious problems. Once you remove the heads, you are getting into deep repair territory.
