Car says starting disabled due to theft system and won't start please help

Are you trying to use an unprogrammed key or a key from the wrong car? I'm not sure what else would trigger the system and shut the car down, unless of course its not your car. You might require the dealer's help on this one to get it mobilized again. They will require proof of ownership I'm sure.

??? What an odd response. I'm sure there are a number of reasons why the theft system might have kicked in. If you think you have a possible solution why don't you make the suggestion to the person who asked the question? Attacking me for doing exactly that isn't helping them in any way. They didn't post here to watch people fight, they posted because they have a problem that they would like some help with. We all come together here and give this our best shot, but as you surely know, we're gurus, not psychics. We can't totally know what's going on with a car we've never seen. I'm going to mark you response as helpful. It wasn't, but entertainment value deserves to be rewarded too.

You are the one who made rude assumptions about how it got triggered. Mine won't turn off either right now and the things I said are how mine got triggered. So far none of the fixes I have been told work have worked so I dont have a solution to offer the person asking but then again you didn't either. You just basically accused them of stealing their own car

I didn't accuse them of anything. I suggested it as a possibility. It did seem a little suspicious. The security systems don't usually just act up out of the blue although it does happen as you can attest to. I've changed dozens of batteries and quite a few starter and never had it affect anything so that possibility didn't even occur to me. Again, your experience proves that that could indeed be a possibility. As for my final comment that a dealership would want proof of ownership before working on the car, that was intended as a heads up to go there properly prepared. I'm sure they want to know that before resetting a security system and handing someone a new set of keys. As for you, you need to chill. There was absolutely no reason for you to attack me just because you didn't agree with my response. I would never do that to you or anyone else... not even Ed. My whole reason for being here is to help people find solutions to their automotive problems. People. It's easy. Goggle security bypass procedure on (your car year and model). Yellow, white, and black ignition wires under steering wheel. Or under glove box with panel removed. Use a resistor to get your light out but not needed to start your car. Resistor will be 2.20 ohms compatible. Follow instructions after using search engine. No need to fight. And you don't have to show proof of ownership at a dealership for any service either. Lol. Haha. Mauvesunrise is right. Battery and starter work requires a bypass. But you're not an a$$hole munron.
