Question type: General
My regular tire size is 225 60 R16 and theirs
someone selling some brand new tires for very
inexpensive and I need tires horribly but his are 215
60 R16 does anyone know if they'd work ok for my
2006 Pontiac Grand Prix with 3.8 liter engine?

These tires will work but I recommend getting the correct size.
If his tires are so much cheaper, I would be skeptical. Are they new or used? If used, any obvious wear issues? Any plugs indicating prior repair done? What is the year of manufacture? Is it less than 10 years? (There is a date code molded into the sidewall of every tire made.) If all checks out, the size is a little (10mm) narrower but will work but I'm with FOR on this. Get the correct size. There are other things that rely on the proper size tires like braking and handling and speedometer accuracy.
I'm going to disagree a little bit here. Obviously having the correct size on your car is ideal, but most likely the only difference you will notice, unless you are into performance driving, is that your speedometer won't be quite accurate anymore. Definitely check out the things taver91 says, but if everything checks out I think you'll be fine.
