Interchangeable parts from a 1999 grand prix GT for a 2006 Pontiac Grand prix

Asked by Cwools48 Sep 04, 2020 at 11:13 PM about the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Would a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT have
any interchangable parts, for instance the
dual exhaust and rack & pinion for my 2006
Pontiac Grand Prix. I'm not needing any
engine parts or anything just front end parts
and exhaust. Does anyone have any thoughts
on this cuz i don't want to buy 1999 if it
doesn't help my needs.

For the Rack to swap over, you would need to find a 2004 to 2008. Certain parts of the exhaust would swap over for the 99, not all, but reusing 21 year old exhaust parts is not a good idea if you live up north as getting it apart will most likely damage it. It might be cheaper in the long run to buy new OE parts.

Generally speaking 1997 thru 2003 are the same. Hope that helps! Jim
