Obd 2 port in 06 Pontiac GP has a short on the second prong

My 2006 Pontiac grand prix has a short on the OBD2 I tried
programming remotes with a programer but it still doesn't
work went to test the OBD2 with a circuit tester and it would
flash power after I started the car but slowly fade to flashing
the power on and off I have no clue what it could be please
help !!

That old it could be wiring but it sounds like the ECM has issues. Time to dig out the flow charts.

To program NEW remotes open drivers door climb in and cycle key 3 times lock and unlock doors using door switch 3 times door locks should cycle on their own (lets you know its in programming mode) press lock and unlock individually on remote . Add second remote. REMOTES MUST BE NEW once programmed to the car they are encrypted to that bcm and not reusable. Keys to go will send new ones w instuctions. (Amazon) 30.00 bucks for two new remotes.

Second part is you may have an incomplete ground and is not completing circuit, of you have power loss to obd terminal check ecm fuses. And terminal pins for corrosion or wire broken inside insulation.
