what would make my car idle high and then drops low lose engine power The reduced engine power light came on what could it be

Is the a/c on? Rough idle is usually/ cause by o2 censors improperly working causing the map censor to regulate the fuel air mix to your engine. Have you Checked the air filter?
If your check engine light is on you need to have it scanned to locate the problem. Could be a vacuum leak or a malfunctioning sensor.
Having the engine scanned for trouble codes is the first step. Without that information everything else is just guessing.
