What's wrong with my headlights

Every time I get in my car and start it up my headlights
would work then once I start driving on the road they
would randomly shut off even if I play with the adjustment
lights they would come on then shut right back off my
brights won't even work

Do they both go off at the same time, or randomly one at a time? If its random its likely the bulbs.Have you replaced them? Modern halogen bulbs are notorious for doing that when the filament inside is broken. It's a stiffer material that manages to weld itself back together briefly, usually when cool and then breaks again when it gets hot.
