T/C light

Hi I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Gt every
now and then when I'm driving this T/C light
comes on and soon after my car shuts off. I
was told that my alternator was going bad
so I had that replaced 2 weeks ago thinking
that would solve the problem but it still cuts
off. I'm getting a tune up tomorrow hoping
that solves the problem. What the heck does
T/C means and how do i get that fixed?
PLEASE HELP!!

get your computer read for any stored trouble codes. autozone or pepboys or...
