If it gets hot right away it could be a blown head gasket , See if the fans come on when it gets hot , check the radiator level when cold , If heat is intermittent there could be an air pocket , Don't assume anything . Get back before you spend a bunch of money

Park the vehicle with the front pointing upwards, like partway in your driveway. With the engine cold, remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Add coolant to the radiator until it's full. Leave the engine run until the thermostat opens up. As the coolant level drops down, keep topping it off. Once the thermostat is fully open and the coolant stops dropping you should be good. Put the radiator cap back on and fill the plastic coolant recovery tank to the full line. This will work because the radiator cap opening is higher than the rest of the cooling system when the front of the vehicle is on the upward incline. Hope that helps! Jim
