sounds like a bad torque converter. put you foot on the brake and put it in drive.......does it feel like its wans to go dead? then shift to park or neutral does it idle higher? has your car been eating a lot more gas since this happened. also check to see how long it take to shift gears when taking off is it delayed? if so then its most likely a bad torque converter

George My 2006 gran prix 3.8 just weeks ago, shut off at very busy traffic light. 3 men pushed me out of traffic. Called AAA, they take me to Advance Auto Parts across the street, scan says MAP sensor. They have the $90 part, Advance down the road has the $42 part. AAA takes me there. I bought it, put it on, check engine light comes on for the first time since owning the car. Amazon has it for $13. Ordered it. Still rough engine after Amazon story. Scanned again, misfire code at Advance.Towed away hours later. Replaced plugs, wires and module. Car runs horrible after time and money. Check engine light still on. Fuel system left and haven't touched it. Wow.

George again...I also replaced the coil pack. So, new ignition parts to the hilt, new Map sensor and it idles like nitro motor. CAN'T drive it.
