Pk3 issues

I bought a 2005 Pontiac
Montana the previous owner had
lost the key, I called the dealer to
get a new key and was referred
to a locksmith who made a key.
It opens the doors, it turns the
ignition over one click but no
further, the locksmith said it
needed programmed, the key
does not have a chip in it, how
can I program it so the vehicle
will start. I  getting very
frustrated.

Sorry to have to say this,but it will have to be programmed by the dealer,the dealer you delt with in the pass that could not make and program the key would not be a good choice to take it back to,find another dealer it does not have to be a pontiac dealer,good luck with it,
