Can I put a hard top on a convertible
3 Answers
C4 convertible hardtops were offered in 1989 and can be fitted on convertibles from 1986 through 1996 Corvettes. The 1986 through 1988 Corvettes may require a hardtop mounting retrofit kit to adapt them to accept hardtops. Now, I'm not sure if the retrofit kit attaches to the hardtop, or the car. If you just got this hard top, it might have the retrofit kit which will need to be removed before it will work on your car. If you are having installation issues, or things just don't seem to bolt up right, I would look into that. I wish I had pictures, but I think it's a straight forward install assuming the parts are right. Hope this helps, give me more info if you can. Straight out of the install manual sounds to me and who could argue with that? Great answer Nosmo glad to have you around, there isn't enough compliments on this site , I'll start it, great job>,
I have the optional hard top for my 87 and 89 convertible. It's great. Very easy to install and remove when your out in the sun.
