Hi Where do I find the build date of a car I am looking to buy 1996 Corvette
Vin no VIN: 1G1YY22P7T5100257

On the driver's side door there should be a sticker that will have the month and year the vehicle was built. You can also get a copy of the original factory to Dealer invoice for your vehicle for $50 from Allied Vaughn. Google "gm media archives" for their website. This will show the exact day your vehicle was shipped from the factory and the original selling Dealer. Hope that helps! Jim

The 10th digit will also confirm year of manufacturing in this vin the 10th digit is 10 which was used in 1996. The vin chart has a 30 year loop so the soonest this digit will be used again is 2026

Tenth digit is 10? Try again. The tenth character is the letter T. You are correct in that the tenth character of the VIN is the model year though. Look at this chart, it's less confusing! Jim
