Your better off going to a platform that has the engine power and size you want, instead of trying converting a under engineered platform... Guys do this... the 97 legacy was optioned with the EJ25D if it's a 2.5L. Those are the ones that are super prone to failed head gaskets. Also not sure how hard it is to swap a quad cam (DOHC) motor in to a dual (SOHC) cam car. But the easiest thing to do would be to use the block and heads, and bolt your intake manifold, injectors, etc to the 25D from your 22E. But if it's a 22E for a 22E, it should be a pull out both motors, and put the legacy motor in affair.. CAN YOU SAY HEADACHE! and in the end they don't run well! JUST GO FOR A WRX!
