Are you buying cheap after market parts or factory parts?
Did you ever find out what was wrong my car is doing the same thing
It's the module for the electronic power steering that's bad, or going bad. And that's not so much of a cheap and easy part to replace as are the electric motors. I Believe it needs to be programmed from dealer. Maybe you just need it reprogrammed? ( Could of lost connection to the electronic power steering motor if battery or alternator died) try disconnecting negative battery cable and replacing fuses labeled EPS.
