Strong gas smell from exhaust, no power

Asked by GuruDV6SW Aug 22, 2017 at 09:18 AM about the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I asked about my 06 chevy cobalt burning gas, and
was told that one or more of my cylinders arent
fireing. I changed the spark plugs and boots which
it needed but it is still having the same problem
along with no power. What else could it be?

scan for codes , sounds like it's dumping gas somewhere , may be injector stuck open ,bad TPS , MAP , fuel regulator , once the exhaust gets hot unburned fuel will explode in the exhaust
