I'm having problems getting my car onto reverse

Asked by Brian Feb 09, 2013 at 07:42 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Chevy cobalt ss/sc and I'm
having a hard time putting it into. I have to
pull it back so hard and when it finally goes
into gear i get a very loud grind and it
moves the whole car. I have no problems
with any other gear besides that one. I've
tried the first to reverse trick and that didn't
work. The only thing that seems to work is if
i put it into gear while the car is off then
start it up. Any ideas as to what is wrong
with it?

The problem is that your clutch pedal is not releasing the clutch fully. It might be leaking. Check our fluid level. The pumping the pedal a couple of times before moving the lever.
