Why is my check engine light on?

Asked by elgbon76 Sep 04, 2014 at 09:00 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light came on while we
were on a trip. We stopped at Autozone and
got a diagnostic.  The code was 0301.
Since then the check engine light started
blinking. Every time I come to a stop or take
off it kinda putts like its about to run out of
gas. After i take off, it runs fine. We
replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter.
Since then, it has gotten worse. Also, my
mom has gone down a lot. Someone had
mentioned that I need a new fuel injector.

What does code "0301" tell you is the problem? You said you had the code read but didn't say what you did after finding out. It can be any number of things, including a bad catalytic converter, fuel filter clogged, air filter has plugged up, or a reset on the computers.
