How do I find out about the power steering recall?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I cannot steer it, the car jerks, and the interior lights and signals go crazy. I have not had it a year yet and it I unsafe to drive already.

Have your VIN # ready and call a dealer and they can tell you if your car was brought in for the re call, or Carfax . That is over a million cars! And surely not nearly all were brought back
Yes, It's no big deal. Call any GM dealership and they'll look after you. Mine was recalled about a year ago. In the shop for part of a day and cost me nothing.
We have a Chevy Cobalt 2007 and GM change this power steering assit for a 2 year ago and the same problem not fix after GM put another motor.
Apparently the problem you are experiencing is not related to the part that was being replaced. What sort of problem do you have? If we knew that we might be able to offer some guidance. There are a number of suspension and steering parts that wear out and might be causing problems. Check the intermediate shaft at the base of the steering column, Check the steering rack itself. They sometimes wear and get loose and rattle when driven at low speeds. (Mine does that. Some day I may replace the rack) The rear bushings in the front control arms wear out and cause all sorts of vibrations, especially under braking. (Yup, I've had that too) And it may be all of the above and something else too. It's getting to be an old car and things do wear out. Hope this helps.
