What to know with 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan suspension conversion to 1998 subaru outback
Asked by Jamessubaru Dec 02, 2015 at 12:59 PM about the 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon AWD
Question type: Car Customization
Looking to lower the ride of my 1998 subaru legacy outback. I know this
2003 strut and spring suspension from an Impreza WRX sedan will be a
direct fit but I have also been told to match sedan with sedan, and wagon
to wagon. Since this is sedan to wagon, will I need rear spacers to
compensate for a saggy rear due to more weight? or is it illogical to go
sedan to wagon??
Thank you so much for your time and help!!!

Your '98 OB has Subaru's least reliable motor, the infamous first gen 2.5DOHC. As such I wouldn't invest an extra $5 into keeping ANY such '96-'99 flawed OB/GT/LSs. Sorry.

Sure. But the query concerned adjustability, for which the Subie OE stuff is NOT.

Thank you for your responses! I was talking just about stock suspension set ups for the crossover. Would sedan to wagon still work with spacers though? As I stated before I heard to keep sedan with sedan and wagon to wagon when crossing over parts between model platforms. Thanks again!
