car stalls after getting gas

There is a vapor line that takes vapors from your gas tank to the intake to be burned off. A sensor is supposed to shut this vapor line off while the engine is not running. Either your sensor or the valve is malfunctioning. The line is remaining open while the engine is off...as the gas fills the tank it is pushing vapors through the open valve to the intake, which makes the engine act as if it is flooded. Look for a line that runs from your intake to back towards the tank. It will have an electrical connection to a valve or solenoid near the intake. Check for a loose connection first. Another clue is to use a tank of gas, before you shut the engine off, open the gas tank cap...the idle will change noticeably as regular air is sucked through the vapor line.
