bad smelling smoke pouring into car

I have a 1999 Subaru legacy wagon with 130,000 miles on it. just had o2 sensors replaced and a new speedometer placed (was not working). next day smoke starts pouring INTO the car. lots of Horrible strong smelling smoke. almost like burning plastic (although my husband thinks smells like exhaust). I almost passed out. of course I pulled over right away and had it towed. what is this? related to exhaust and something he did with o2 sensors or related to cooling system/coolant leak?

Inspect his work. Sounds like he might have left something loose and it came in contact with the hot exhaust. That is as long as the smoke is not coming out of the tail pipe.
