2003 subaru legacy engine knock. what is the likely source. 180000 miles

Engine stalled when i pulled into driveway and applied the brakes. it did restart but there is
loud knocking sound now. i suspect a rod but could it be a stuck valve or bad lifters. not
smoking or misfiring.

Sounds like a rod bearing. Doubtfull it's a lifter or valve.
