Check engine light on once in awhile

I bought my 2006 Chevy equinox on dec.
3rd. It's now the 18th and my check
engine light has come on twice.  This
time all I did was turn the key and it came
on. What could it be.

If the light comes on briefly and then goes off when you start the engine that is normal.
