Overheating & check Engine light on

My 2006 Chevy equinox is overheating in the check
Engine light is on I think my car is confused because it’s
not really overheating soon as a put my foot on gas n
drive 3 miles overheating light come on I jus replaced
thermostat in fans in heater core I dnt kno what else to do
can anybody help me or give me an idea of what it might
be

Unplug the engine coolant sensor turn ignition switch on, the overheat lite should be on and the temp gauge should peg hot, if that's the case replace sensor hope this helps
