theelement23, hi, I imagine that you purchased your car from a private party and can't ask the dealer who sold you the car? Do you really work on your own car? I take my cars to an independent mechanic for work. Sounds like it's an O2 sensor or MAP sensor pretty minor stuff but, unless you are a good diagnostician or have the tools and expertise to figure out exactly what it is, it can be expensive as a shot in the dark proposition fixing each parr separately in sequence until you find the right one. I don't think it's anything major. Good luck. Otherwise, the car is good? ---Mark
are you getting and check engine light warnings ??? This could get expensive if you just start replacing things unless your first one is the correct one but sometimes the cost of the item is a lot less than the fee to have it looked at than have the garage replace it ( they mark up there parts big time ) whcih is ok they are there to make money also maybe you have a vacume leak somehwre my car does this when i first start it up it idles up and down
kinker- I agree, it's not a good idea to just start replacing parts unless you know they're not working, which is why I asked if they have diagnosed the problem and have tools and expertise to do this. There's a lot of things that could cause this problem, including a bad computer, hopefully it's not that. So, sometimes paying for a good diagnosis is worth the money. In any case, its not as expensive as having monthly car payments of $400 per month for 60 months.
You got that right Mark i don't have any car payments at all and don't mind doing the work on my cars either so i have a lot of different toolsl I am finding i am always getting my moneys worth out of these tool i have work on about 10- 15 different cars and I alway pick up a service manual for each car i get I just wish I would get the same car I already had the manual for LOL
