I recently bought this 2002 Subaru outback station wagon, but I can't figure out how at night to get the floor gearshift and dashboard illuminated.

Can you suggest a solution or recommend a place in the Rockville-Kensington-Potomac-Bethesda area

There should be a dimmer switch to the left of the steering wheel. if you tried that, check the fuses.

If the car is an automatic the gear shift on the on the floor does not light up you have to use the dash for the gearshift position, it is directly ion front of you over the steering wheel )
