Is it worth it to fix my 2003 Subaru legacy outback's head gasket?

Keybler- I agree, but, see if you can get this done with the new multi layered head gasket design. Talk with your mechanic and show him this information. https://allwheeldriveauto.com/six-star-subaru-head-gasket-kits/

Depends upon rust level in the rear quarters and lower rocker sill seams, as this is a death knell for the '00-'04 body. If you also need brakes, tires, or wheel bearings think twice before spending $1500-1700 on a full HG job (be sure to have machine shop refresh and check flatness of heads; using the newer gasket is automatic).
