2005 Subaru outback 2.5XT knocking sound in engine

Hey there. We just recently bought a 2005 Subaru outback
2.5XT and are loving it. Problem is, about 4 days ago, I
noticed the engine knocking not super loud, when shifting
into third(manual transmission) it only does this when cold.
Once warmed up, it stops. It is the turbo engine, we do use
premium gas also. Any help? Hoping this is not a major
problem, since we literally haven't even had it a month. It
only has 68,000 on it too. Any help would be great.

Congratulations on finding a manual 2.5XT! Those are extremely rare. At this point, it probably only happens when cold and revving it around 3.5K RPM's or higher?

I would make sure your oil is full and beyond that, not worry about it. That noise is a typical Subaru noise called piston slap. To avoid it, wait until the car is warmed up until you pass 3K RPM's.
I, unfortunately, had to recently get rid of my 2008 2.5xt because of engine knock. This was a louder and more distinct sound that was constant, as opposed to the Subaru piston slap.
I need to replace the cam positioning/timing sensor on the passenger side of my 2005 subaru legacy outback 2.5 xt. Where (on the passenger) side is it?? Nothing i have or found on the net describes this action.
