Cruise Control

I have a prob with the cruise control on my Outback (I just go tthis car the other day).

When I am using the CC it will be on for a while but will go out of SET mode.  I called the dealer and they said it could be a vacuum leak or the main unit might need to be replaced (at $700).  

Would anyone know where I could look for the vacuum leak?  I don't even know what to look for on this car in terms of where to find the CC unit.

Any help is appreciated.

Same problem here. My dealer says there are no vac lines. There are at least 3 ways that the set point can be reset; switch on steering column, limit switch on brake pedal and limit switch on clutch pedal. Assuming that the controller was seeing a false input from 1 of these points, I adjusted both of the pedal switches and solved the problem. The pedal switches are plunger type limit switches mounted on threaded cylinders and secured with 14mm nuts. I moved each closer to its respective pedal by about 1/2 turn. This took about 15 minutes. Saved a bunch of $$. Good luck!

does the cruise control work when your in 7th gear....my cruise control works up to 6th gear but when I use paddle to go to 7th is stops cruise control...2019 outback
